There’s a lie going around about America. The first part of the lie is that we are “one nation” - this is no longer true. We are divided over political issues, cultural issues, legal issues, moral issues, and spiritual issues. One nation? Not at all. The second lie is that we are one nation “under God” - forgive the cynicism but this is absolutely untrue. America has many gods and most people would be hesitant to acknowledge any god that they have to "be under". We create gods of our own choosing that serve us, not the other way around. America is a divided nation and there are some major issues which separate us into different camps. And these camps can get heated rather quickly! This sermon series was shared with the members of Meadow Baptist Church during an election year. The issues did not disappear after the final votes were counted. These divisive topics continue to be debated among Americans but the question posed in this series is ‘What does God say about these things in His word?’ Open your heart, open your Bible, and open your mind. The nation may never again be under God - but you can be!
